The Massachusetts Library System (MLS) is looking to hire an experienced professional who has a passion for providing training and consulting services on leadership and management topics. Information about this position, including how to apply, is discussed below.
This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) exempt position, based out of either our Marlborough or Northampton, MA office. This position carries the title of “Consultant.” A general Consultant position description is linked to and incorporated into this job advertisement. More specific qualifications and responsibilities for this position are detailed below. The Consultant position will report to our new Library Consultant Manager.
The successful candidate may have the opportunity to telecommute part of the week with approval of their supervisor. (Please note, however, that this is not a fully remote position.) Partial relocation assistance may be available if the successful candidate currently resides outside of Massachusetts. As stated in the general Consultant position description, the full salary range for this position is $73,185 – $102,466. The starting salary will fall within this range and will be based upon education and experience.

MLS is a state-supported non-profit organization that provides a variety of services to our 1,500+ member libraries across Massachusetts, including state-wide materials delivery, mediated interlibrary loan, online resources, consulting, and training. MLS supports all types of member libraries, including academic, public, school, and special libraries. The Consultant position is part of the Learning Services department. The goal of the Learning Services department is to help our members accomplish their goals through our sustainable and equitable consulting and training services.
