The Trumbull Library is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a newly created position. The successful candidate for Library Marketing Support will have experience in marketing, talent for graphic design and enthusiasm for promoting services to patrons, both online and in person. This position works closely with the administrative team leaders, creating digital and print materials for programs and services, monitoring the library’s social media accounts, and ensuring brand identity across all media. This position will also serve some time each week on the service desks and will provide support to programs and events. They will also attend town events, such as Trumbull Day and farmer’s markets. The ideal candidate embraces social media and pursues new, novel methods of engaging with our patrons, helping create an experience for how the public interacts with us, whether in front of our service desks or on their smart phone.

Benefits & Additional Compensation Info

Description

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Access Services, this position supports the effective operation of Trumbull Library by performing a variety of graphic design, marketing and promotional duties for all departments. Incumbent will design and produce both print and digital materials, including flyers, signage, and other resources, to support library programs, services, and collections. Responsible for maintaining and developing content for the Library’s eNewsletter and social media accounts. This position also requires working with the public at library service desks.

In collaboration with library department coordinators, design and produce print and digital materials consistent with the Library’s branding across website, social media, marketing materials, and library signage.

Create, schedule, and manage content and monitor engagement for all library social media platforms and weekly e-newsletter.

Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.

Photograph and/or film library programs, events, and services; edit media for promotional use.

Maintain and update the Library’s events database (LibCal).

Provide programming functions as necessary.

Provide direct service to the public.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

Experience creating, scheduling, and managing content across multiple social media and web platforms.

Some experience in creative design and/or marketing preferred.

Strong photo and video editing skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work courteously and effectively with library staff and library patrons.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum GED or high school diploma.  Degree in communications, marketing, art or related field preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of graphic design software with a strong understanding of print and digital design principles, layout, and typography.

Experience providing excellent customer service is preferred.
