Senior Library Associate - Youth Services

SENIOR LIBRARY ASSOCIATE – YOUTH SERVICES
 

The Town of Cheshire seeks candidates to apply for the position of Senior Library Associate (L-4) in our Youth Services Department.  Please see the job description on www.cheshirect.gov for further details.  

The ideal candidate will be a creative, tech-savvy, empathetic, service-oriented team player interested in collaborating with diverse colleagues from all library departments. Duties of this position include providing customer service to children, teens, and caregivers in our lively children’s and teen rooms, reader’s advisory, collection maintenance (including shelving), assisting our Youth Services librarians with programming, and contributing to marketing efforts for library programs and services. This position also works regular shifts at the circulation and reference desks.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills and enjoy working with the public, especially children and teens. Marketing and/or social media experience is preferred. To be considered for this position, an applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of relevant experience with youth populations or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 

Rate: $34.04 per hour, 35-hour work week, with two weekday evening shifts and Saturdays in rotation.
